Since May 2022, I have worked as a project maintainer for the top-rated open source language learning application Language Transfer.
Language Transfer is a project by Mihalis Eleftheriou, building audio courses for learning languages, completely free. The mobile application brings the courses, originally hosted on Soundcloud, into a convenient format that allows learners to download and listen to episodes and keep track of their progress.
Language Transfer has over 100,000 downloads on the Google Play Store, and is rated 4.9 stars on the Google Play Store and 4.8 stars on the App Store.
My primary responsibilities working on the app have been managing iOS development, adding features, making bug fixes, and optimizing the React Native codebase for iOS.
Technical Details
The Language Transfer app is built on React Native and TypeScript, and is built for both Android and iOS devices. It is open source and completely free to use.
